Domestic Building Wires : Zero Halogen Wires ( ZHFR )

Zero Halogen WiresMany flame retardant cables are based on Halogen Free Flame Retardant insulation material (HFFR). Halogens can be present as part of the insulating material that is PVC or may be a component of the fire retardant mechanism. When burned these emit acidic gases such as hydrochloric acid which when in contact with electrical or electronic components, can cause expensive corrosion. The cost of this secondary damage can far exceed those attributed to flame damage, particularly when associated with human beings.

Proflex’s ZHFR wire are made from specially formulated & compounded halogen free flame retardant that exhibit low smoke emission, low corrosivity, low toxicity, and low heat release properties, as well as flame resistance and char formation, while simultaneously maintaining favorable electrical insulation properties.

As in case of fire, the casualties occur due to suffocation and inhaling toxic fumes and gases rather than burns, but with Proflex’s Zero Halogen Fire Retardant wire, when victims trapped in the fire do not suffer suffocation, can be evacuated with less difficulty, and the fire fighting is more convenient and effective. Due to property of low corrosivity, electronic printed circuit boards and hard disks remain unaffected. Thus, even during the fire, Proflex’s HFFR continues to supply uninterrupted current to fire alarm circuits, corridor lights, staircase lighting, emergency circuits, lift etc. Las but not least, Proflex’s ZHFR wire fights fire even before dialing the Fire Brigade.
